We're a small family, doing one thing beautifully

Dean G Premium Cut Opals began at the cutting wheels, with a love of Australian opal and a belief that the most precious things should be carefully designed and crafted. Three decades on, we're still a small family business, cutting and designing every piece ourselves.

Nothing here is mass produced, and nothing is made overseas. When you wear a piece of ours, you're wearing something a real person designed and crafted, chosen for its colour, its fire, and for you.

2010
A PARCEL OF ROUGH

Dean buys his first parcel from Lightning Ridge and Coober Pedy, teaches himself to cut on a second-hand wheel.

2015
THE FIRST WORKSHOP

The family opens a workshop, and starts setting the stones instead of selling them on.

2016
MADE ENTIRELY IN-HOUSE

Every stage, from cutting and design through to setting and finishing, is brought under one Australian roof.

STILL A FAMILY

Thousands of one-off pieces later, nothing is outsourced and nothing is made in bulk.
